Amplify your possibility

Gare du Nord, Paris. 2019

The icy grip of winter likens itself to the restrictions imposed upon us. We find ourselves withdrawing, wanting to pull a cover over our heads and hiding until someone tells us it is all over and everything is normal. This is clearly not going to happen. We are living in a new future. Restrictions will lessen, but the past will not ever become our present.

Reinventing ourselves

Our families, business and personal lives require us to embrace this new evolving future. We will forge our way forward and discover ways to maximize our days and reinvent how we live.

During transition, as the chaos begins to settle, we will inevitably discover a new normal which brings a sense of calm. We establish routine and begin to experience a lift to our inner beings, feeling brighter and more inclined to embrace the opportunities and activities of making the most in the change.

This pandemic has seemingly placed our world into a pause. Ironically, beneath that pause, I’ve seen a murmur of activity where people are making the most of their days. They make things happen, embrace opportunity, and embark on creative approaches towards purposeful living amidst lockdowns.

I find myself wanting to soar.
I want to make a difference, to feel alive and to thrive.

Embrace the possibilities of a new future

1.    Book intentional conversations.  On a regular basis, consider 1 or 2 persons whom you could have a conversation with where you could hear where they are at and share what is happening in your life. It only takes a moment to send a quick note requesting a 30-45 minute call simply for the purpose connecting. This will result in you being remarkably inspired as you step out of your world, and paying interest into another’s. It’s been amazing to see the impact and connections through many of these calls.

2.    Embrace role models. In the rapid and innovative changes we are experiencing, there is a desperate need to be in a continual learning environment where we are proactive. This adjustment can be expedited by finding a role model who may have insights and strategies you can learn from. Over the past months, I’ve worked alongside an industry professional who I’m continually amazed by. He, and his partners have grown their business exponentially over the past year. They are deeply committed to their corporate values, while rapidly reinventing their organization. They lead through rapid change. Their business is essential, and they used this pandemic crisis as on opportunity to meet deep and intrinsic human need  on a larger scale than ever.  This person has become a role model to me. His commitment to focus, leading people and fulfilling his values has been tremendously influential. He makes a difference and I’ve learned from that.

3.    Make the small moments count.  Experiences and relationships invigorate us personally and corporately. We have spent our lives celebrating, travelling for vacation and work, attending weddings, funerals, and endless events. Suddenly, the things that we have thrived on are not allowed.  We’ve all grieved, reworked our lives to manage the loss and emptiness this brings. We’ve discovered new ways of bringing joy and hope through small moments. Take the effort to do what you can to make people smile, to bring lift to you and your household or workplace. These things matter. Simply ask yourself what you can do today to make small moments count and then do at least one of them.

Are you all in?

I’m about the new tomorrow.  The insanity of this moment in time is not something I want to get the best of me. I love life. Yes, it is hard, I am finding joy in seeing how stepping forward and connecting with people who are purpose driven. Each day has possibilities. Some could lead to failure, but more likely, you can amplify the possibility of success. I guarantee you can brighten someone’s day by simply letting them know you noticed something they did that mattered to you.

These principles of caring about others, stepping out into the unknown, and being influenced by people you respect will absolutely move you forward.

You matter.

You make a difference.

It is time to amplify your possibility!
